Syllabus

Museum and Museology is a Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) offered by the Delhi University. This paper comprises of 2 Credits (1 Theory + 1 Practical). There will be an End semester theory exam of this Subject. Under Practical section students will be taken to any of the museums mentioned in the syllabus for the purpose of  understanding the nature and scope of Museum's collection and its exhibition techniques. 30 hours for practical with minimum 3-5 Days for Museum visit and field work is to be done as mentioned in the syllabus. For Internal Assessment Teachers May ask for assignments or Presentation on any of the Museums mentioned and can take class test as well. 

This paper aims to provide basic understanding of the Museums and New Museology. You will Understand the historical process of the development of Museums in India and develop an insights into the different roles of it such as organizer, Preserver, and manager of artifacts. After studying this course, students will be skilled for Culture and Tourism based Industries and can get jobs in many Institutions.
